960.31 kWp
Project Overview
Kilsaran Concrete partnered with Grange Solar to implement a commercial-scale rooftop PV system across their production facility in Brownstown, Co. Kildare. This was no ordinary install — the system spanned three separate roofs, each with varying ages and structural conditions, all while the site remained fully operational. Despite the live environment, which included ongoing manufacturing activity and heavy traffic, the Grange Solar team successfully delivered the project on time and with zero disruption to day-to-day operations.
The 960.31kWp system features 2,158 solar modules and 8 inverters, all housed in custom-designed external enclosures. The entire build was completed in just 10 weeks, a testament to the team’s planning, coordination, and full-scope EPC delivery — managing everything from design and consents to construction and commissioning.
Results That Matter
Now fully operational, the system is projected to generate over 780,000 kWh of clean electricity per year, offsetting 235 tons of CO₂ annually — the equivalent of powering 187 homes. With an estimated payback period of 3.5 years, the project not only supports Kilsaran’s sustainability targets but also delivers a compelling financial return.
This project exemplifies Grange Solar’s ability to deliver complex, large-scale energy solutions with minimal disruption — even in demanding industrial environments.

“Partnering with Grange Solar has been instrumental in helping us move towards a more sustainable future. This installation included over 2,000 panels and a bespoke inverter switch room, now supplying over 19% of our electricity needs at this site. It was delivered on time, on budget, and without disrupting our day-to-day operations. This month alone, we’ve become over 30% self-reliant. We look forward to collaborating with Green Solar on many more projects as we work toward our ESG targets.”
